biometrics, rock hall of fame, x-box

on friday Michael took a day off from work since i had a biometrics appointment at 1 pm. what is it? it's next step in the loooong process of the adjustment of status and all the bureaucracy.. they had to take my fingerprints (as if they didn't at the US embacy in Armenia), and for i-don't-already-know-which time i had to fill out my name/surname etc. then the fingerprints will be sent to FBI to make sure i'm not a terrorist. anyway, the whole thing took about 20 mins only.

and then... then! Michael took me to one and only rock hall of fame! yep it's in Cleveland, OH. unfortunately it wasn't allowed to take any photos or videos inside, but they have an official site and a flickr account:

no need to say it was awesome. it was more of a music museum where you could see how rock'n'roll was born from old blues and how later all kinds of derivatives up to metal and rap originated from it. i saw costumes, guitars, cars (!), guns, letters, and other stuff of Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, David Bowie, U2, Pink Floyd, etc. at every step there were wide-screen TVs built into walls showing some old news footage, interviews, video clips, etc about rock'n'roll and musicians. also at every corner there was a music machine (or sometimes a little screen built into the wall) with a headphone set. each machine had a collection of one band/artist songs, or sometimes had a collection of songs from some time-span (e.g. 80s). last 2 floors were closed and from what i figured are open during summer only. however we spent about 3-4 hours, and i had completely lost any track of time. there was also a gift-shop were you could buy CDs, books, clothes, cups, and just anything. we got some CDs (the only thing that wasn't overpriced way too much).

i think some people will like the rock hall of fame and some won't, but one thing is certain - if you have a chance visit it al least once if you care about music at all. you will be emerged into the music world... and will walk a lot! my legs were hurting me for 2 days :))

then we headed home. suddenly i remembered that we needed to get more RAM for the workstation, so we stopped at bestbuy which is a huge electronic store. other than RAM we got a western digital passport for me to back-up all photos primarily. it's an external hard drive which connects to PC through USB. the smallest one was 160GB. so it's my new "flah drive" :))

and! we got an X-box!!! it's a playstation for video games, but it also allows you to hook a PC to the TV set enabling watching videos, listening to music and looking at pictures on a huge wide screen! also now there is no need to have cable TV. we signed up for Netflix account (which is about 25$ a month) and now we can watch ANY movie or a TV show without any adds, without the need to run to a store or a rental place. x-box is really awesomeeeee!

though it was such a long day we still went to "the bumpers" - the karaoke bar we go to almost every friday. Julie, the bartender, made us some very good long islands... which were also very strong. so we went home at 1 am - earlier than usual. when Michael was about to park the car in front of the apartments block, i saw something in front of the car and we stopped abruptly. "something" was 2 geese! the fat bastards didn't consider it necessary to move out of the cars way. only when we stopped they made some noise and lazily moved aside.

me: Michael! everybody's asleep, let's go kick some bad goose ass! nobody will see! (there is a law protecting animals here)
Michael: haha vicious girl. be nice to birds :)
me: nice to them??? they just ask for trouble! they think they own the world and are superior to humans!

but Michael wouldn't let me touch the precious representatives of the wild life, which are untouchable :))

wow ! it really seems you had a nice day.

and now I am a bit surprised: the bar-tender made long islands for you, and then Michael was driving a car. Isn't there a law, which forbids alcohole, if you have to drive then.?

P.S. I see dreams about my cam in the night :D :D :D

yeah there is such a law, and it would be very bad if a police would have stopped our car, however if you drive nicely and don't break any rules you will never be stopped ;) same with the seat-belt - the police officer can't stop you to see if you are or are not wearing a seat-belt, but if he stops you for something else and sees that you are ALSO not wearing a seat-belt you will get 2 fines.

haha i'm excited for you!
