interview

November 28th

so the day has come... i felt like this before some important university exam or my job interview. though this was way more important - i bet everything on that, i had no right to lose. and even though i was 99.9% sure everything would be fine, i still didn't have that 0.1% which was the "chance". so i rolled the dice...

i arrived at the embassy and waited for like 20 mins to get in and to the waiting hall. then i was waiting for my turn.

when i walked to the glass, i already knew it was only the first part - handing in the documentation. i had everything necessary. the lady started naming documents and i was handing them in. suddenly she looks at form DS-230 and says "where is the second part?"

me: hm? it's not needed. i had it printed but it's blank. and your invitation paper says i needed only the first part.
lady: we require both now..
me: you told me to follow instructions on your invitation paper. i just did.
lady: hm may i have a look.
me: here (pointed with a finger)
lady: hmmm yes our fault.. okay

this proved me one point - all the people who were shaking in front of this lady and others, who we begging them to get approved, who were scared to argue or even to say anything, were wrong. they just had to stand up to their rights, speak up, and not be shaking like a leaf! not having hysterics! no lying, not crying! just being confident in what they said, keeping it smile!

then the lady took all 10 fingerprints (strange that she didn't also want to take my footprints!), and told me to wait.

after that i was called and was interviewed by some american man. i was the only one who had an interview in english out of 10 people.

the questions were:

- how did you meet your fiance?
- when did you meet him?
- where does he live?
- how long have you known each other, how much time did you spend together?
- how many times did he come for a visit?
- do you have any photos of you two together? (! heh !)
- have you met his parents?
- do his parents live in the same city as him?
- what do his parents do?

that was all! the interview itself took 5 mins!

and yeah what for the photos... the man was shocked and quickly went through the first and third visits :D he saw the huge folder of evidence, but didn't ask for anything but the photos, so i could have not printed anything! too bad.

anyway. then he told me to come on dec 3rd at 4.45 to get the visa and the passport.

me: dec 3... it's really good because i'm leaving on 4th :D
guy: ?!
me: well Michael has bought ticket's for 4th... morning..
guy: !!

that's it :)
